South Bend is earning: Irish football lands three commits in one night

There are big nights, and then there are nights like the one Notre Dame’s football program enjoyed on Monday.

In the span of fewer than three hours, Notre Dame received commitments from no fewer than three recruits in the Class of 2017: 3-star defensive tackle Kurt Hinish, 3-star linebacker Drew White and the capper, 4-star linebacker Pete Werner.

The trio of new Notre Dame pledges came just two days after the school’s Junior Day and continued a strong push following the event; 4-star linebacker David Adams and 4-star quarterback Avery Davis had already made their decision official following their own participation in Junior Day in South Bend. Werner is the highest rated of the trio, ranked just outside the top-25 outside linebackers in 2015, though all three players add valuable depth to Notre Dame’s recruiting class.

And Hinish made sure that his commitment message wasn’t to be outdone, taking his cue from Adams and a classic Notre Dame mantra:
