Tate Haynes, a quarterback who competes for Cathedral Catholic in San Diego, but has already decided to follow his father in more than one way: He’ll head back to the Boston area, where his father spent years playing for the Patriots, and he’ll move to the defensive backfield, where his father was a star.
The younger Haynes’ decision to accept Boston College’s scholarship offer now stood as a potential surprise for some. At the time of his commitment, the rising senior only held competing offers from BYU and New Mexico, but a strong start to his senior season easily could have changed that.
