Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night. No, this isn’t the postal service; this is big-time college recruiting.

In the days leading up to Thursday night’s collegiate decision by top wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, coaches from all his final contenders trekked to Michigan to visit one of the nation’s top recruits. That included Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, who took time out from preparing for the Fiesta Bowl showdown against Clemson in a national semifinal to cross the state border … in the middle of a the year’s first serious snowstorm.

The word serious is not used lightly here. Just take a look at that photo above, which showcases Meyer and assistant coach Kerry Coombs heading to their vehicle to get up to Peoples-Jones.

Of course, we won’t know if Ohio State’s efforts will come to fruition until Thursday, but no one will ever be able to accuse Meyer or Coombs of not putting in a full, old college try.
