When Jaquan Yulee announced that he had selected a college destination, many assumed he would be heading to national powerhouse Alabama. They were right, they just didn’t realize the lengths to which he went to ensure that all his family and closest friends could be involved in his decision.
Yulee announced his decision at a Monday night press conference from his Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Va. The inside linebacker’s announcement featured a coach’s visor, a hot mic and enough custom screen printed t-shirts with script A’s to keep a local entrepreneur in business.
It included multiple Roll Tide exhortations (of course) and another key defensive pledge on the defensive side of the football for Alabama. Yulee is the first linebacker pledge for the Class of 2016 for a school that features an NFL ready linebacker practically every year.
Will Yulee be that linebacker come 2015 or 2016? Who knows. He’s certainly going to give it his all, once he’s done celebrating his choice.
